Android Experiments OBJECT

Android has an open source mobile platform to allow developers around the world to make mobile and connected devices free of restrictions. This project’s purpose was to convey not only the Android’s spirit of freedom, but to also promote free flowing ideas by people.

On June 2016, a project, Android Experiment OBJECT was launched with the aim to “Connect with Android and make the world more fun and convenient with ideas.” An open entry contest followed for ideas of devices. QUANTUM ran and supported the project by providing UX mentoring, supporting lean product design, anddeveloping prototypes from the chosen ideas from the contest. Contestants of the contest included product designers, startups, students and people of diverse backgrounds.

Of the 200 entries, 33 ideas were chosen for the first round, and through the public vote and the advisor judge panel, four were chosen to advance to the prototyping stage. In March 2017, four prototypes(Chronoscape, ELI, Magic Calendar, Smart Maternity Mark) were exhibited.
